The Programme Board
Meet the group tasked with empowering Cardiff and Vale University Health Board’s workforce and patients. Dedicated to delivering excellent patient care, the Programme Board is driving forward the values of Shaping Our Future Wellbeing.
Stephen Parnell is the Assistant Director of Organisational Systems Change at Cardiff and Vale UHB. He’s aligning and maximising the efforts of both the Programme Management Office and Continuous Service Improvement Team under a new, singular division, the Shaping Our Future department, to ensure that the large scale changes approved by the Programme Board are thoroughly mapped out and supported. His objective is to make sure that the large scale changes that are needed across the UHB are put into action rapidly, effectively and with exceptional quality.
Rachel Gidman is the Assistant Director of Organisational Development at Cardiff and Vale UHB. Committed to creating a thriving working environment, her aim is to ensure that the UHB is a brilliant place for people to work and learn, ensuring that employees feel connected, empowered and supported. Her goal for the Shaping Our Future Wellbeing programme is for staff to embrace the values of transformation, and ensure that the proposed changes translate into innovations that work for everyone, no matter their role or area of expertise.
Joanne Brandon is the Director of Communications, Arts, Health Charity and Engagement at Cardiff and Vale UHB. With a wealth of experience working in strategic communications in the public sector – having previously held roles in Bristol NHS Foundation Trust and Gwent Police – Joanne has a clear and ambitious vision about how charitable funds can be used to improve patient experience and patient outcomes. She’s committed to bringing the values and behaviours of Shaping Our Future Wellbeing to life through storytelling.
Ruth Jordan is the Head of Continuous Service Improvement at Cardiff and Vale UHB. Believing that staff should be the first port of call for ideas about improvement, she works with teams across the UHB to transform theories and concepts into sustainable and workable solutions. Her aim is to enhance the quality of services for patients and citizens, provide pioneering and effective innovation, and support the efficient delivery of these plans by achieving “more from less”.
Hannah Brayford is the Head of Programme Management at Cardiff and Vale UHB, providing specialist support that doesn’t just facilitate large scale change, it accelerates it forward. Together with her team, she supports the methodology, delivery and project management of Shaping Our Future Wellbeing, ensuring that all stakeholders are kept up to speed with the latest developments and that their ambitions are realised.
