Programme Management Office
The Programme Management Office (PMO) was founded in 2013 with an important remit: to offer specialised project management support for the health board’s multi-disciplined workforce.
Based within Strategic Planning and a core part of the transformation programme, the Programme Management Office (PMO) promotes a structured and systematic approach to project management within Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. They identify and prioritise new projects and work to support staff to a standardised methodology, with easy to use templates and a set of supporting project management tools to ensure a higher chance of implementation.
A truly synergistic team, PMO mentors project managers and members of staff with an interest in project management to develop a spirit of collaboration across the health board. They provide advice and guidance to enable the UHB’s workforce to deliver projects successfully, with KPI trackers to monitor and benchmark project performance with best practice. Afterwards, they support staff to collate and report project status, and facilitate closure reports and reviews.
• To enable, deliver, and accelerate transformational change with measurable benefits.
• Achieving this will support the sustainability of the UHB strategy, Shaping Our Future Wellbeing.
• To be recognised as a centre of excellence for the management of programmes and projects.
• To work collaboratively to share and embed best practice and expertise for the benefit of everyone.
